DIY: Some Things Do Come Easy . . . In Time

As you develop as a DIYer, you will realize, some things do come . . . in time. I came to realize this recently as I tackled a couple of projects that I estimated 1+ hours of work, but found it went quick-- as in mere minutes.

Why did that happen? Because I:

  • Have a much higher competency than I used to just months or years ago
  • Know plenty of tricks to avoid problems
  • Got lucky there were no unforeseen hitches that I had padded my original work time estimate for

The key is to attack the job and learn for this time and the next time. That next time might be the easier one.

My point is don't get discouraged, in many ways it does get easier.
