Automotive DIY: Jack Points and Jack Stands Placement





You need to jack your vehicle up . . . where should you put the jack and the jack stands? Here are a few ideas:

 

  • Frame and major connections
  • Rear axle
  • Control arms that hold the wheel and steering components in the front
  • Differentials in the middle of the axle



As always, I highly recommend you become familiar with your owner's manual
and strongly recommend getting the Haynes Auto Repair and Maintenance manual for your vehicle.
