Low Profile Living: Sleeper Cars

Ever hear of a sleeper car? Basically, it is a wolf in sheep's clothing. It is a stock "looking" car that has been modified to perform non-stock. I first heard of it from a friend when we were discussing racing strategies and I pointed out that you might be able to "hustle" suckers but not advertising what your car could really do. You could conceal performance:
- Suspension
- Brakes
- Intake and exhaust
- Turbo
Afterward, I thought about my desire for low key living that a sleeper car could also apply to other aspects as well. It might be applied to:
- Stereo equipment
- Communications devices
- Tools
- Emergency gear
- Survival kits
- Money and valuables
I touched on this a little bit in my post, Safety and Security Tips: 25 Ideas on Where to Hide Money in Your Car.
The key idea here is that your vehicle could be well equipped, but not obviously so.
To put it in real simple terms, which car would a thief be more interested in-- a late model luxury sports coupe or your clean, but unassuming, older sedan? I rest my case.
