My Renewed Interest in Radio Communications

Tried finding a small transistor radio these days? It is getting harder to do. These forgotten items are still useful for activities and handy in the case of power outages.

As an outdoorsman and survivor of extended power outages, I have several types of radio, but I am looking to expand my receiving and transmitting capabilities.

While I already have a few radios (AM/FM/Weather/CB/Walkie Talkie), I am now interested in boosting their performance and potential. Mainly, add decent headphones and an antenna and your radio becomes more valuable. I need to work on the antenna aspect a bit.

  • AM/FM
  • Weather
  • Shortwave
  • 2-way CB and Walkie Talkie
  • Ham Radio

I will soon be adding a good shortwave receiver and I am interested in obtaining a ham radio license later this year.
