What Will You Do?

I have a colleague at work who is competent at many things, but would be helpless in a change of the status quo. What would you do?

This coworker is dependent.  He relies on the the status quo not changing-- if it did, he would be in big trouble.  In this day and age, he is not alone.  Japan just had a change in the status quo-- a triple whammy of earthquake, tsunami, and nuclear crisis.  The status quo can change and my coworker isn't ready for change.  Let me give a few examples . . .

  • If his car has trouble-- he will call for service
  • He relies on a plumber or electrician
  • His food is from the supermarket or a restaurant

You get the idea . . .

Now there is nothing "wrong" with this, but again, what if the status quo changes?  I don't know what he will do . . . what will you do?

Self reliance is the answer-- learn, grow, and be ready!
