Want to Keep Your Auto Repair Bills Down?

Use used parts! This is a surefire, frugal way to keep your auto repair bills down. If your car isn't relatively brand new, you should consider used parts.
The thing is with an older car, more used parts are available and you may not want to put a brand new part in a car with a limited life left in it.
Granted not all parts should be replaced with used parts. That said here is a list of parts that should be considered for replacement with used parts:
- Compressor
- Radiator
- Alternator
- Engine
- Body parts
- Wheels
- Transmissions
Many of these parts are available used and many carry lifetime guarantees/warranties on the part.
Now, as I mentioned before, there are some parts that should be replaced new, including:
- Belts
- Hoses
- Brake pads
- Rotors (After they have been turned [resurfaced] a few times beyond use)
- Tie rods ends
- Ball joints
- Sway bar connector kits
- Tires
- Wires
- Lightbulbs
- Filters
As to where to find used parts? Call local salvage yards. They sell these parts at about 1/3 the cost of the price of brand new parts. Again, many give lifetime guarantees on the actual parts.
This is a big way to save on your auto repairs.
