Personal Safety and Self Defense Skills: How We Are Vulnerable to Terrorist Attacks

Feeling safe? That's good, but anything can happen and we are vulnerable to terrorist attacks. I remember 9/11 and know people who survived it and some who died in it. We are still vulnerable and you should at least be reminded and aware. How are we vulnerable?

  • Water-- Our water supply is relatively wide open
  • Food-- Our food supply isn't protected
  • Crowds-- Present targets to madmen
  • Transportation-- Despite the TSA "sideshow," still a risk
  • Financial-- Financial markets may be regulated, by they can manipulated

So why do I bring this stuff up? Because being aware gives you the opportunity to pause and plan for any contingency. My advice:

  • Have food and water stores and back up plans
  • When in crowds, think about an exit strategy in the event of a crisis
  • Consider private transportation instead of public transportation
  • Plan your finances to handle market shocks and disruptions

So don't be caught with your head in the sand and be ready for anything.
