There is a Method to My Madness . . .

I joke about this with my wife all the time.  I tell her that there is a reason for everything I say and do, no matter how strange it may seem at the time.  We laugh about it, but part of the joke is I usually mean it.  I do things for a reason.

Do you do things on purpose?  Or do you sometimes find yourself saying. "I don't know!"  When asked why you are doing something.  I am constantly doing mental prioritizing and organizing.

I don't know about you, but I hate doing things twice.  I try to things once and will do some things to setup my next steps and to help multi-task.  I try to focus and make it happen fast and efficiently.  This applies to:

  • Work
  • Projects-- big and small
  • Cooking
  • Gardening
  • Learning

No matter what-- I like to have a plan, a process, and a method to my madness . . . how about you?

My bro-in-law is fond of saying that people never have time to do it right the first time, and so have to find time to do it right the second time. All too true. Myself, I believe in Creative Laziness. Do it right the first time so I don't have to do it again.
Like the time I figured out the route to mow the lawn at my mom's place with her electric mower so I didn't have to flip the cord every turn around the yard...
