If It Was Easy, Everyone Would Be Doing It . . .

Ever notice that anything worthwhile is hard?  It usually requires work . . .

Things that are hard:

  • Your relationships (Spouse, kids, friends)
  • Your career or profession
  • Excellence in anything
  • Success in anything
  • Life

The problem today is everyone wants it easy-- instant gratification.  I had a discussion with a colleague today about some management problems he was having with some young Generation Y charges he is responsible for developing.  He relayed to me that these guys want results and success, but don't seem to want to put anything in to achieve the results.  (See Child Worship and the Self Esteem Movement).

I once heard a great quote, the author escapes me right now, "If you want some fire, you've got to put some wood in the stove . . . "
