Slow Cooker Recipes: Swiss Steak in the Crock Pot





Another set it and forget it meal-- Slowed Cooked Swiss Steak in the Crock Pot.  Prep time is about five minutes.

Here's what you need:

  • 3 lbs. of round beef, cubed
  • 4 carrots, sliced thin
  • 2 cups of onions, sliced
  • 1 cup of beef broth
  • 1 can of whole tomatoes
  • 1/4 cup of flour
  • 2 tablespoons of olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon of worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tablespoon of honey
  • 1 tablespoon of brown sugar
  • 2 teaspoons of dry mustard
  • 1/2 teaspoon of salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon of pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon of paprika
  • 1/4 teaspoon of cayenne pepper

Here's what to do:

  • Combine the dry ingredients in a bowl and mix
  • Put the steak in the mixture and be sure to cover
  • Put the oil in a skillet and brown the coated steak
  • Put the rest of the ingredients with the browned steak in the crock pot
  • Cook on LOW for eight hours
