Book Recommendation: Basic Country Skills

This is a great reference for those living in the country-- even old hands.
John and Martha Storrey's Basic Country Skills  is an invaluable reference.  It would also have a value to suburbanites who want to do more with their outdoor spaces (gardening) and want recipes and ideas on canning.  I own this book in my personal home reference library.

Some of the more useful topics include:

  • Home selection and maintenance
  • Gardening
  • Farming
  • Food preparation and storage
  • Tools

I highly recommend owning it, but I have seen it at the public library as well. It is a powerful resource for those seeking a more self reliant life.
