DIY Quick Tip: Hammer Effectively

Here is another DIY Quick Tip: Using a hammer is really an art form that requires practice and refined technique to do it right. Effective and efficient use of a hammer involves three key approaches:
- First, hold the nail in place for solid contact.
- Second, never take your eye off the nail head-- your fingers will thank you and you won't miss the mark.
- Third, always try to hammer with a VERY subtle, "glancing" blow.
That third one is the advanced technique that maximizes power and minimizes the number of blows needed to drive a nail. No joke-- It takes practice.
Remember, DDFD always says that practice makes better . . .
