Self Reliance and the Whole You . . .

Frugality is a large part of the Self Reliance Workshop.  "Frugal" is even in one of my site names.  However, frugality is only a part of the "Whole You"-- self reliance embodies many aspects of one's life.

I define the "Whole You" as a collection of values, skills, talents, attributes, and characteristics that make you-- you.  If you look, you will see many posts about these attributes sprinkled throughout this site and my sites.

Here are some of the pillars or foundations of the "Whole You":

  • Frugality
  • Self Reliance and Self Sufficiency
  • Self Improvement and Development
  • Productivity and Organization
  • DIY Skills
  • Quality Living

These days people are starting to react to certain situations (like the recession which ended about two months ago) by making some changes-- for example, temporary frugality is suddenly very popular.  My view is:

  • Why not take the active approach to this temporary situation to work on the "Whole You"?
  • Why not improve your life-- all around?
  • Why not move forward with new choices that improve you and your quality of life permanently?

When you think about it being active in developing "The Whole You" involves looking at:

  • What can you learn today?
  • What can you do to help yourself?
  • Where can you start to better control your finances?
  • How can you get more quality in your life?
  • How can you improve?

There are many other questions to ask yourself, but let's keep it simple and get started . . .
