Cooking From Scratch: How to Make Your Own Mushroom Gravy

I love mushrooms and I really love mushroom gravy.  Make your own-- homemade . . .

Here's what you need:

  • 1-2 pints fresh sliced mushrooms
  • 1 tablespoon of olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon of butter
  • 1 tablespoon of flour
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1/3 cup of red wine or sherry
  • 1 dash of Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 dash of garlic salt
  • 1 dash of onion powder
  • Salt to taste
  • 1/4 teaspoon of pepper

The total prep time is under 10 minutes.

Here's what to do:

  • Put olive oil and butter in a saucepan on medium heat
  • Add mushrooms to sauté
  • Mix in other ingredients
  • Stir and bring to a boil
  • Simmer until ready to serve

Enjoy!
